Bullosa: How to Speak with the Words That Created You

Are you ready to become BULLOSA/O with your words? In Dominican culture, ser bulloso/a means to be loud, expressive, and impossible to ignore. It's about taking up space with your voice, your presence, and your truth. The Dominican Writers Association proudly presents "Bullosa: How to Speak with the Words That Created You," a transformative Spanglish spoken word workshop led by Yaissa Jiménez that celebrates this essential aspect of Dominican expression.

This workshop invites you to embrace the bullosa/o within – that part of you that refuses to be silenced, that speaks with the full force of your heritage and experience. Like the vibrant conversations that spill onto the streets of Santo Domingo or the passionate debates that enliven family gatherings, your poetry deserves to be heard, felt, and remembered.
