Dominican Writers Association is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit literary arts organization founded in 2015 with the mission to amplify Dominican American stories. Since its inception DWA has provided support to emerging writers by sharing the tools and resources required to become published authors. Under DWA, the imprint of DWA Press has published 100s of writers and mentored many through their own publishing process. DWA is a grassroots organization inspiring as many people as possible to read and support Dominican writers everywhere and to do so they create engaging programming.
DWA is also the creator of the Dominican Writers Conference, an annual conference established to showcase and empower future Dominican writers. DWA is devoted to sharing, promoting, supporting, and developing Dominican writers—and, in turn, creating community
